Else Sather
cello
Else Sather is a cellist and teacher from Oakville. She began lessons at age 8 with Joanne Goyder in the Oakville Suzuki Association, and the positive experience she had there ignited a passion for cello playing.
She has pursued this passion as a student of Amber Ghent and later at university. In the spring of 2022, she completed a Bachelor’s degree in cello performance from the University of Toronto, studying with Toronto Symphony principal cellist, Joseph Johnson.
Else is keenly interested in music and the Suzuki method philosophy. During university, she began taking Suzuki teacher training with Susan Gagnon and is continuing to add to her professional development and qualifications.
She is heavily involved with the Oakville Suzuki Performing Arts Camp, both as a former camper, and most recently as an administrator and teacher.
